With great sadness, we're announcing that we've made the decision to cancel the TypeVille conference. This was a tough call to make for a few reasons.
First of all, we didn't sell as many tickets as we've hoped for till this point. The concept of TypeVille was bold and, unfortunately, maybe we didn't offer exactly what people wanted, or the timing was bad - we'll definitely examine that further.
Secondly, in the light of the war in Ukraine, it wouldn't feel right to promote and organize a technical "mountain getaway" event. Our minds, as probably many others', are somewhere else.
The conflict resonates with us deeply as our nations are friends and neighbors and many software engineers from Ukraine participated in previous editions of Scalar. We've released our anti-war statement and donated all of SoftwareMill's February profits to the Ukrainian Red Cross. If you want to assist refugees and people in Ukraine, here is a place where you can find verified organizations that provide help. #StandWithUkraine 🇺🇦 💙
